HD52.3D-ultrasonic-anemometer-1

Ultrasonic anemometers

now being used in Grenada, uses ultrasonic sound waves to measure wind velocity. They measure wind speed based on the time of flight of sonic pulses between pairs of transducers.

Stevenson Screen

This is a meteorological screen to shield instruments against precipitation and direct heat radiation from outside sources (sun, etc.), while still allowing air to circulate freely through the screen.

Psychrometer

A psychrometer is a device used to measure the humidity of air and is recommend in modern Stevenson screen. It consists of two thermometer bulbs: a wet bulb and a dry bulb.

Anemometers

Device used to measure wind speed and direction.

Thermometer

A thermometer is a device that measures temperature or a temperature gradient. Modern day Stevenson screens are no longer equipped with regular thermometers eg. Mercury in glass thermometers, for health reasons since mercury is a lethal substance.

Automatic Rain Gauge

(Tipping Bucket) – used to measure rainfall through digital means and measures at a rate of 0.2mm per tip. Found on our Automatic Weather Stations.

AT/RH Sensors

Found on our Automatic weather stations, used to measure temperature and Relative Humility.

Soil Moisture Probe

Tells you if the soil is wet, moist, or dry at the root level, are especially effective for large potted plants. Found on our Agro-Climate Weather Stations which is also an automatic weather station.

Leaf wetness Sensor

used to determine the amount of dew and precipitation left on surfaces, Leaves. It is used mainly for monitoring leaf moisture for agricultural purposes, such as fungus and disease control, for control of irrigation systems, and for detection of fog and dew conditions, and early detection of rainfall.

Pyranometer

A pyranometer is a type of actinometer used for measuring solar irradiance on a planar surface and it is designed to measure the solar radiation flux density from the hemisphere above within a wavelength range 0.3 μm to 3 μm. Found on our Automatic Weather Stations.

Barometer (Digital)

an instrument measuring atmospheric pressure, used especially in forecasting the weather and determining altitude. These types of barometers are used mainly indoors and can be found at out Met Office.
